Every member of the church is in the Lay Organization; members who attend monthly meeting are referred to as "active lay". All members are invited to attend monthly meetings, held the third Sunday of the month following Worship Service. We are members of the Illinois Conference as well as the Connectional Lay Organization.

Purpose:

• Represent the laity of the church legislatively

• Instill in its members a love and appreciation for the history tradition and principles of the AME Church.

• Encourage the support of the total program of the local church.

• Fostering systematic and regular study which will provide greater knowledge and participation in the Church.
